This was our fourth carnival cruise. Our second cruise on the miracle. we loved the miracle and the staff and the food and everything so so much the first time around we decided to do a second trip on the miracle about a year later. Embarkation went smoothly. Our cabin was nice. The bed was comfortable. The water was hot. Our room steward was fantastic as always. The food was good. The ...

Good music. Mediocre food

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Miracle

The live music around the ship was really good. The ship was clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was so-so. I didn’t really care for the food available around the pool (which should probably be improved bc the service was very slow and just okay tasting). Didn’t love the Lido deck food, which all looked about the same to me. Would have loved a different section of gluten free ...

Viking vs Regent- A Personal Perspective

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Viking Star

User Avatar

First Time Cruiser • Age 70s

After sailing almost exclusively with Regent, we decided to try Viking for our next Ocean cruise. They offered an itinerary not available with Regent at an attractive price. It was a 16 day Los Angeles to Hawaii return. This long post maybe helpful for those who are considering switching or choosing between the two. We called this a personal perspective because it relates to our particular ...

Pamper yourself

Review for a South Pacific Cruise on Viking Star

I've always wanted to visit Hawaii. This cruise made it possible to go to three of the islands in comfort. Our cabin on 5th deck was delightful. Plenty of storage, a full closet, and the best designed bathroom of all the many cruises I've taken. One possible improvement could be with the shower door. It tended to open when the ship rocked. We tried several of the eating options; eating mostly ...

Crew is amazing!

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Serenade of the Seas

The crew have been handpicked for the ultimate world cruise and it shows. They are bending over backwards to bring unique experiences, cultural shows, destination briefings, etc. The company has created some frustrations through inconsistent policies towards people doing same types of sailings (ex, offering discounts to those paying in advanced but not applying this equally to clients), and on ...

We won't cruise with Princess in the future

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

We chose this cruise mainly because it was going through the Panama Canal which was fantastic, but unfortunately two of the original stops got cancelled, the stop in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua got cancelled just a short time after booking and Grand Cayman got cancelled as the swell was to bad for the tenders. Pros: All the staff were excellent The Medallion App seemed to work well The ...

Disappointing Experience on Navigator of the Seas

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

I recently had the unfortunate opportunity to sail on the Navigator of the Seas with Royal Caribbean, and I must say, it was a highly disappointing experience. From the moment I stepped on board, it became evident that this cruise was far from the luxurious and enjoyable experience I had anticipated. One of the first aspects that left a sour taste in my mouth was the bar service. The staff ...

OK, but not great

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...

Do not go on this cruise!!! Waste of time and $$

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Navigator of the Seas

I just took a cruise on Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico and it was BY FAR the worst cruise I have ever been on. First and most disappointing, Catalina Island was basically closed. They said once on the island that it wasn’t season so there was basically nothing to do once you got there besides rent golf carts and ride the same route for an hour. There ...

Fantastic Escape

We wanted to escape the Virginia cold, so we booked a 33 Day Cruise on Viking. It was our first Viking Cruise, and we were very impressed. The staff were excellent. Cornelia, the Cruise Director, was a sweetheart! After one morning visit to the Cafe Bar on Deck 1, young Ganesh had memorized our names, knew what we wanted and provided me a Cafe Con Leche and Blueberry Muffin for the next 30 days! ...
