We had just sailed Transatlantic on the Crown Princess and disembarked in Southampton. A short taxi ride from the Ocean Terminal over to the City terminal was accomplished with minimal problems, and a 5 pound fare. Our arrival was early, about 10:00 AM and the baggage was tagged and went aboard without problems. The terminal was almost empty and boarding had not started. Our group consisted of 6 ...

My husband and I cruised the transatlantic inaugural cruise and felt the whole experience was average. The ship is beautiful and decorated very well but fell short on the space for many of the activities. We are older and like quiet places to read and watch the ocean go by, and this ship lacked those type of places. There is no quiet places on the decks outside to just lay back and relax and ...

After 20+ cruises it's time to submit a review especially after reading all the whining about this cruise. We do not fly and normally sail with Princess and NCL. We sailed to Southampton via the Crown Princess for 2 weeks and it was delightful. The day we arrived in Southampton we transferred to the Breakaway for the 7 day T/A to NYC. This ship is amazing. The entertainment is outstanding. We ...

We arrived in the UK on the 24th of April and stayed with friends in Poole, near Bournemouth pre-cruise, and they drove us to the port on the day of departure, so I do not have any tips on hotels in the area of the port. Embarkation in Southampton was smooth for us. We arrived at the terminal around 10:45a, and were allowed to proceed directly through security and into the check-in lobby. I ...

We were really excited to be taking the inaugural voyage of the Norwegian Breakaway from Southampton to New York this April but excitement led to let down as we boarded the ship and then throughout the voyage. 1st - the ship was clearly not ready for us. There was no program of the day's activities in the stateroom and the customer service desk said they had run out and no more would be printed. ...

Embarkation: Southwest train from Waterloo station in London to Southampton Central train station for 38 pounds, anytime train. 90 minute ride. Brief taxi ride to pier. Was on ship in less than an hour. Beautiful brand new ship. Given the size, there are only 2 sets of elevators- midship and Aft. Was in cabin 10102 forward with view off helipad. Great storage space, room seems larger than ...

This was my first cruise and I was somewhat disappointed. As we boarded the ship our welcome was neither here nor there. No one said anything and we weren't sure what to do with our room passes which had to be verified. Our cabin was incredibly narrow and tight to move around in, not helped by the very dark decor. We felt the bathroom was fairly spacious but the plug in the sink didn't fit well ...

Wow! We had a fabulous time aboard the Norwegian Breakaway. This was our first cruise so did not know what to expect. It certainly lived up to our hopes and dreams. Thought cabin was nice and roomy (although reading on here it was smaller than other cruise lines). We did have a balcony and did think balcony was small (not cruised before so maybe same on other ships). Restaurants again found ...

Arrived in Southampton 11:30A - Our bags taken on Curbside while we checked in. Check-In process was easy and quickly we were sitting down in the our "Haven Lounge" - It was a slight disappointment as they advertised that there would be refersehments while we wait, but not a complete let down. Boarded the ship and were greeted by the wonderful staff of the Haven - Ruth and her assistances. ...

About Me: I'm a 31 year old male who traveled with my mid-60's mother. A cruising friend of mine also came along traveling solo in a standard interior cabin. For me this was my 26th cruise and 15th with Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). I've traveled several brands including Princess, Royal Caribbean and even once on Carnival. My most recent cruise was on Celebrity Millennium to Asia. I tend to ...
