We chose the cruise because of the itinerary. Unfortunately, a number of people became ill early on and we were on red alert for 9 days! Not the fault of the cruise line, who handled the problem extremely well, but it didn't help with the overall enjoyment of the cruise. The staff were super and friendly. Lima is the worst embarkation experience ever. Our transfer dropped us off a Oceania pickup point filled with hucksters trying to help us with our bags. We were lucky when we got on the Oceania coach to take us to the ship. There were only two of us. The competition with shipping trucks was chaos. WE love Oceania Cruise Line. We didn't specifically choose Insignia, we choose the itinerary. That being said, being on Insignia was an added bonus. This was our third adventure on Insignia. This was a first Oceania cruise for after more than 10 on other lines. We enjoyed the upscale lounging and gathering areas, but found the guest entertainment mediocre for the most part.
