The Eurodam is a stately, well-kept ship. We very much enjoyed its classic ambiance and lovely public spaces. Embarkation was quick and flawless. Our rear verandah stateroom was immaculately appointed and our room stewards were top notch. The main dining room and Tamarind restaurant offered impressive fare.
But our experience included three major disappointments, and as such this was the ...
This was my first cruise since COVID, and all cruise ships may now be the same, but I really missed all the small niceties on this ship. We sailed with a group of 10 and were not able to secure any kind of set dining time, despite having a 2 year old in our group. This made each dinner time unnecessarily stressful, standing in line for "open dining" and hoping for a table within the next couple ...
I'd avoid Holland America line if you are not an old age/white person. You will be ignored at bars, restaurants, will be seated at undesirable seats and get bad service if you do not fit their expected profile above. Took us 45 minutes to get a glass of wine. They'd flatly refuse to seat you at a window in a walk-in dining place to keep the seating just in case somebody more desirable shows up. ...
I chose this 21 day back-to-back cruise booking because of the Pinnacle Class ship (Nieuw Statendam) and the itinerary (ABC + Greater/Lesser Antilles)
I chose to repeat this itinerary because the islands are varied in local culture and available excursions. HAL did not disappoint, and we were blessed with great weather for the entire 3 weeks. The ship was decorated beautifully for the ...
We chose to sail on the Nieuw Statendam because we had sailed on this ship before and enjoyed it very much. I do not know what has happened to Holland America and this ship it was totally different from when we were last on this ship and also sailing with Holland. Our last cruise with them was June 2021.
First, upon arriving at the airport we had their airport to ship transfers. The older ...
I chose this cruise because it was long 21 days. I also chose HA because of the older crowd, and fewer children.
Also for the food choices which were excellent .
my cabin stewards Yan and his counter part....can't remember his name at the moment were also awesome.
I wanted to cruise over the holidays as well.
The entertainment was great.
Did not like the smoking that was allowed ...
My husband and I sailed on the Nieuw Statendam December17-27, 2023.
Before the pandemic we enjoyed cruising and had just started making Holland America our preferred cruise line. We had a Canada/New England cruise planned at the beginning of the pandemic that we had to cancel (of which we lost all our money). We finally felt comfortable to start cruising again and book the above mentioned ...
This was our first cruise with Holland America, and we absolutely loved our 10-day journey in the Southern Caribbean seas! Everything worked smoothly from beginning to end. We were most impressed about the quality of service - all crew members were happy, polite, and treated us like we were on a holiday, just as it should be.
The food was amazingly fresh every day and we enjoyed the various ...
We have cruised each winter on Celebrity and looked for a change. We are not mad about their new E class ships. Rotterdam is beautiful, elegant , modern ! Cabins are spacious and top class. Ship is gorgeous all round. Food is above average. Beats X in our opinion. Customer service is poor. When you have a complaint or concern they do get back to you, but they are like robots. They never resolve ...
Dining: The Pinnacle Grill was amazing but books up quickly. The dining room and Lido buffet have very good food but lack variety. Early dining was at 5 PM which is a bit too early IMO. The service at both the dining room and buffet was excellent. Drinks served in the dining room were half the size of drinks served at bars. Dining room etiquette was not enforced, and we had to watch people in ...
