This was my second cruise on the Diamond Princess. I cruised around Hokkaido in Aug 2017 and liked it so much that I decided I’d like to cruise around the other islands. This cruise was advertised as 13 days but it was 2 cruises (8 days/5days). Embarkation was very efficient but somehow my luggage tag came off and despite having a name tag, I was told my surname was common so they did not ...

A friend & I decided mutually on these destinations. The restaurants are great , except for people with food allergies, then you're treat as an afterthought. While everyone got beautiful food, I was served inedible rubbish, that was so plain (steamed) I could have screamed. The pastry chef needs to be shot for lack of imagination. Mostly served pies with canned filling on all days. Couldn't they ...

We recently had a 13 night cruise around Japan on the Diamond Princess and it was just wonderful. Events out of the control of the Captain forced a couple of cancelled Port visits but that goes with the region, typhoons, earthquakes and landslide - safety first. After receiving a complimentary upgrade to a Suite we were very excited to find our cabin was a the back of the boat and had a ...

We actually did a 16 day cruise from 7/11 to 7/27 on the Diamond Princess. Overall, we had a great time and we found most of the staff to be quite friendly and helpful. Japan is an amazing place to travel to as it is clean and the people are kind and helpful. All the ports we traveled to were wonderful. Sadly, we missed Okinawa, a decision that was made in haste, as the storm was weaker than ...

Disappointing Cruise on the Diamond Princess

Having enjoyed Princess Cruises before and taking advantage of a Black Friday deal, our family decided to embark on this Diamond Princess cruise. I highly advise spending time in Tokyo and Yokohama before departing, as there is so much to see and do there. We went to museums, shrines, shopping centers, and even Disney beforehand. There's something for everyone in Tokyo, which may not be the ...

We booked a 16 day cruise around Japan and including Busan and Taipei for two reasons, firstly, we love Japan and its people and secondly, we had missed several ports on a previous cruise due to bad weather. We had chosen a balcony stateroom on a guaranteed basis and were pleasantly surprised to find that we had been upgraded to a mini suite. The extra space was very welcome but the only ...

We were interested in seeing more of beautiful Japan...and the thought of visiting Russia was very interesting...We found that the Russian tour was lovely, however perhaps a little bit more free time would have been appreciated. We had some great weather and it only rained in one of the ports but it was still fun. The actual cruise was very lovely and relaxing and the highlight of the cruise was ...

Great captain, Captain Rivera is the most friendly, safe captain of them all.

I thought Japan would be exotic beauty with Japanese gardens manicured and admired by all. The itenerary is weak. Cities visited are basically uninteresting and there is no particular beauty in anything that we visited. We went to Sapporo and spent the day wandering around looking for something to do. May have been my fault, but it was pretty uninteresting overall. Russia is a horrible ...

Nice Itinerary but Disappointing Ship

We chose this cruise as my mom is a Princess fan. I've cruised with other lines but this was my first Princess cruise and I was far from impressed. Embarkation was well organized. Our luggage was in our cabin by the time we entered our room. What a shock to see the mildew in the shower, the toilet seat with touch up paint, and so much paint spatter on the deck and furniture that it looked ...

Leisure 2 week cruising on two separate 1-week legs: first leg around Hokkaido and Russian Siberia (which I did not do). Second leg: cruise around Honshu with a stop in Korean port of Busan. Loved the grilled uni, whelk and scallops at the Hokkaido fish market stops. Same room,B408, on Baja Deck midships with a balcony, port side. Embarking at Yokohama unpleasant with a large air hangar- type ...
