Cruises to Yampi Sound

About Yampi Sound

Yampi Sound is a stretch of the Indian Ocean that lies off the coast of northwestern Australia between King Sound and Collier Bay. A collection of 800 to 1,000 rocky islands of the Buccaneer Archipelago are dotted across the turquoise water. These islands are known for copper, iron and silver deposits. Lesser known are the secluded white sandy beaches and rich Indigenous history.

Creek-fed waterfalls and rockpools flow into the sound. Despite its name, Crocodile Creek is croc-free and safe for swimming. Other areas do have crocodiles, as well as sharks, snakes, birds and tropical fish in coral lagoons.
