About Cruising to Yorktown

The tiny town of Yorktown is a regular stop on Chesapeake Bay cruises. Typically sharing itinerary billing with Williamsburg, it was an important site in Colonial Virginia and is home to a number of historical sights. Yorktown was actually where the British surrendered to George Washington, effectively ending the Revolutionary War. History buffs should be sure to visit the Yorktown Victory Center.

Despite its small size, there is plenty to see and do in Yorktown. From perusing 18th-century homes and visiting Revolutionary War battlefields to strolling the town center to shop for antiques and art, this charming town offers a little something for every type of visitor. There's even a scenic river walk where cruisers can take in beautiful views and snap plenty of photos.
