Who goes on Emerald Yacht cruise ships?

Emerald Yacht Cruises is being designed to appeal to the same demographic as its Emerald Waterways river cruise sister company. Generally speaking, the brand is expected to draw well-traveled cruise veterans in the 55-plus bracket. However, the more active nature of the yacht itineraries is also expected to pull in first-time cruisers, including people in their late 30s and 40s. Expect the mix of passengers to include large numbers from the U.K. and Australia, as well as folks from New Zealand, the U.S. and Canada.

Do I have to dress up on a Emerald Yacht cruise?

Not particularly. Emerald Yacht Cruises will maintain a relaxed, easygoing vibe. There will be no special dress code and no formal nights. Smart-casual attire is recommended for dining, with clothing items such as nice jeans acceptable, but shorts and flip-flops less so.

You can expect some passengers will dress up (smart casual, not full-on gala attire) for events like a captain's welcome dinner and/or farewell dinner.

Is everything free on Emerald Yacht cruises?

Mostly. Cruise fares include a variety of shore excursions, all meals, wine with lunch and dinner, gratuities, and transfers to/from the ship.

Extra costs will include bar drinks, optional shore excursions, beauty treatments and massages, and retail shop purchases.

What are Emerald Yacht’s most popular activities?

Though Emerald Yacht Cruises has not yet started sailing, you can expect that its shore excursions and activities off of the marina will be the most popular activities for Emerald Yacht Cruises' cruisers. From the marina, passengers will be able to stand-up paddleboard and snorkel. Excursions will include EmeraldPLUS (tours that focus on local customs) and EmeraldACTIVE options.

Why go with Emerald Yacht?

  • High level of inclusions including gratuities
  • Aft marina offers direct-from-the-yacht activities
  • Intimate 100-passenger, relaxed yachting vibe

Best for: Fun-loving, active and value-driven cruisers.

Not for: Early-to-bed cruisers or anyone who doesn’t enjoy water-based activities.
