Heritage Line Cruises Tips, Activities, and Overview

Who goes on Heritage Line cruise ships?

Expect an international mix of French, British and American passengers, plus Australians and New Zealanders. Most passengers are mature, well-traveled and looking for an authentic experience where they will get to meet local people and become immersed in Asian culture.

Do I have to dress up on a Heritage Line cruise?

Not too much. Heritage Line does not have a dress code, and passengers need to bring cool, comfortable clothing for the warm weather conditions. Some passengers put on something a little smarter for dinner, but that will be smart casual, rather than anything overly dressy.

Is everything free on Heritage Line cruises?

Mostly. Fares include all meals; wine and beer with lunch and dinner; and mineral water, soft drinks, juices, tea and coffee throughout the day. Also included are shore excursions, yoga and tai chi classes, onboard entertainment and Wi-Fi. There is a charge for spa treatments, and crew and guide gratuities are not included.

What are Heritage Line’s most popular activities?

Passengers look forward to authentic and culture-rich tours that take them to the heart of each destination, including visits to temples, rickshaw rides and village walks.

Signature activities onboard include informative lectures and workshops on local culture and traditions, cooking classes, performances by local dancers and the opportunity to take part in tai chi or yoga lessons.

Why go with Heritage Line?

  • Luxury river cruises on the Mekong, Halong Bay, Irrawaddy and Chindwin
  • Boutique riverboats with traditional flair
  • Large cabins with private balconies

Best for: Luxury cruisers looking to explore Asian rivers in comfort

Not for: Families, budget cruisers or anyone wanting a packed list of onboard activities

One of the many highlights was a photo-slide show of the journey for the guests on the last night causing much mirth and laughter, and to cap it all each guest was given a memory stick of it on departure as a keepsake for a memorable trip We were so impressed with the standard of service that it is our intention to use Heritage Line again on a trip up the Upper Mekong. My wife and I wanted to travel up the Lower Mekong and chose Heritage Line's Jayavarman and what a good choice it was.Read More
