We had stayed in Miami before, but this time only spent one night in a nearby hotel before the cruise.
Embarkation took longer than expected. We understood that we had to vacate the cabin by 8am, but our disembarkation time slot (09.10) for airport transfer was earlier than expected, as our flight was not until 16.50.
Ship is beautiful, and very clean, but we expected more christmas ...
The following comments are only my impressions and my experiences during the Dec 21- Jan 2 2017 Caribbean cruise on the Eclipse. We all realize that people on the same cruise can walk away with very different and at times conflicting experiences.
I have previously sailed 48 days on 3 different Princess ships taking 5 different itineraries. Three of my cruises on Princess were in full suites ...
Have always been happy with Celebrity, quality before quantity. The dining experience always enjoyable and work with passengers with food allergies. Loved the glass blowing from Corning Glass Museum. The stage shows are very good. Loved the martini bar, even had virgin martinis so not to get stupid, and also enjoyed the quiet wine cellar. The main complaint was getting on the ship, it was a true ...
Celebrity is still offering some kind of (modern) luxury compared to many other big cruise lines and although they are not so good they used to be. The Solstice-class ships have some nice features. The Aqua class gives to the cruise a special touch but the price compared to the normal balcony is relative high.
The cruise terminal in Miami is absolutely too small for Celebrity. Some time ago we ...
A great cruise and ship, happy smiling crew, i booked a year ahead sadly due to the hurricane the points of call were changed , but I was disappointed the planned over night in Bahamas and extra days stay was changed, the island was not hit by the hurricane, Martinique was added a disappointment and a total waste of time in my opinion, the first week was good but I did feel the last few days we ...
The cruise line does not offer any thing more than music for entertainment. If you are asian and vegetarian, then do not go to their main dining hall. you'll get no good food. I can cook better than the executive chefs they have on board. They finally accepted that they do not carry asian foods and spices and hence cannot help us. The only option left is "Ocean View Cafe" where you pick from the ...
My travel companion and I always enjoy the shows on Celebrity. We've traveled together on seven Celebrity cruises on five different ships since 2008. This cruise on the Eclipse had the best entertainment. The cruise director -- Eddie, I think his name is -- did an awesome job booking talent. The ship's own entertainers were awesome as well.
The food was good. The room was well maintained. ...
My family just finished sailing the Celebrity Eclipse on a 6 day sailing. There is no doubt that the premium customer service and the aura of elegance that Celebrity used to pride itself in is slipping. While this is only my 3rd cruise with Celebrity, my first experience on the Silhouette two years ago really set the bar high. Last year when we sailed with the Constellation, we thought maybe the ...
We boarded the Eclipse in Miami on Jan 2nd. This was the first time on a larger ship. We were used to ships with about 650 passengers. Boarding (at noon) in Miami, while the port was extremely busy, went quite seamlessly. Our stateroom was ready earlier than expected, however, our luggage did not arrive until late afternoon.
We spent the afternoon learning the ship and taking advantage of ...
I've been on a ton of cruises. Everything from the usual Carnival, RCCL, Norwegian, Princess and some a bit less common like MSC and Pullmantur/Crosieres de France. But even though I had a great experience on Celebrity, I hadn't actually cruised on Celebrity in about 15 years.
I'm glad to report that the standards and quality are still first class. I'm not sure that the food is quite as good ...
