Firstly let me say that I read over 100 reviews of Infinity before the cruise. The average score, below 3 out of 5 with many scoring it 1, made it difficult to predict how enjoyable this cruise would be.
This was my first Celebrity cruise although my wife & daughter sailed on Equinox about 12 yrs ago.
For us the biggest plusses on this cruise were the staff, the entertainment & the ...
Sadly, it is the last day of our cruise. I am happily sitting in the Constellation at deck 11 forward tip of the ship lounge with a cup of coffee, enjoying the view of Hydra. I love this lounge. It is huge, 3/4s around floor to seating windows, air conditioned and quiet most of day time.
First, I will comment on a couple of board type topics. We had chocolates on our pillows, our room was ...
We enjoyed this as a family but helped to have adjoining room for two teens. We had inside state rooms but next time would choose a balcony for after excursion. Not all ports all day so that was a bummer and limited on what you can do at port. Space inside cabin ok but small. Kids thought pool too small for amount of people. Did not use pool in solarium because way too hot overall. Gym ok ...
We chose this cruise, knowing Celebrity from previous cruises and because of the itinerary . It was not Celebrity at its best, but close behind.
Highlights were Kusadasi (Efesos) and Hydra. Low were Santorini. You have one low capacity cablecar to get up /down to/from the town. With 3 cruise ships at the same time it resulted in long waiting times, up to 3 hours.
The ship could do with a ...
My son is turning 50 and my granddaughter is turning 18. We wanted to do something really special and booked this 9 day cruise out of Athens. We were 6 all together and even though the Connie is old, it had the perfect itinerary that included Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes, Ephesus, Kotor and supposedly ended in Venice ( at time of booking). I book through the Casino and they gave me a concierge ...
Wow this is quite a ship. From the moment you walk up the gangway you're on something different. It's a high tech wonder with automatic lights and window shade in your cabin. Hands free washroom doors. Elevators that glow green when going up and red when down. Bar codes on each table you have to scan to see the menu of the bar or restaurant. The hotel block is built on the ships hull ...
We chose this cruise because we had a credit from a previous Celebrity Cruise where we had a problem. I liked the itinerary and despite some negative reviews about the Infinity we decided to go for it. All in all I thought it was a fine trip. Embarkation went very smoothly and we enjoyed the Concierge special lunch. Althought the ship was far from new it was not a dump. There were some ...
Over all the ship is average.
Lame lecture circuit.. here we are in the middle of history, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Rhodes, Malta....you would think a guest lecturer would put some spin of the past, but NO.. the only speaker missed the mark.. had several lectures on how to talk to your dog. Yes. And the turkey is on for the next cruise, too. He is a “ringer”, no way could you get this gig without ...
We chose this cruise particularly for two reasons:
1 Transit id the Suez Canal
2. Embarkation from Istanbul (and so we could stay there 3 days prior to the cruise to soak up some of the sights of this great city)
Our group was three adults - one, my mother had some mobility issues.
Unfortunately with the civil unrest in Turkey and the increased risk to tourists the cruise embarked ...
We are a married couple in our early 40's. This is our 4th cruise and 2nd with X, the previous one being a Western Med cruise 3 years ago on the Equinox. We are fortunate enough to travel permanently but usually in a more budget conscious and adventurous way but we have done a couple of cruises recently to "treat" ourselves.
We embarked in Athens, the ship was at the far end of the terminal and ...
