Just returned from an eleven day cruise to Norway with one day in Amsterdam. The country was magnificent and the weather brilliant and therefore the cruise already gets 3 stars. There were only a couple of dozen English speakers on board which would make it a pretty lonely place if you do not travel with friends as we did. The entertainment team were fabulous and made a mighty effort to get you ...

We just got back from a 4-night mini cruise and decided that unless MSC will remain the only cruising company, there is no way we are cruising with them again. Embarkation process was not that bad, a little too long and unorganised, I was mad because the online check in did not work, however since everyone ended up standing in the same lane (no matter if you checked in or not), it did not ...

We recently took a cruise with MSC Cruises to St Petersburg (Russia). We are a Dutch family with 2 children aged 14 and 17. We booked our cruise very early, in October, at a Dutch company called 'CruiseTravel'. In April we asked them to book excursions, but they refused. By that time I already contacted MSC Cruises the Netherlands a couple of times about these excursions. Because on CruiseCritic I ...

The disappointment started when we arrived at Dover to be told there was no car park space allocated to us even though we had clearly stated that we required this when booking the cruise and paying the deposit!! This took a 20 minute phone call to MSC Cruises to sort out!We then faced the chaotic boarding process! Cars everywhere and no one to tell them where to go!On being shown to our room we ...

Outbound from Dover on the MSC Lirica on 20 May 2009.  This ship is very clean and comfortable with excellent staff covering all our needs.  The ship's shows were good and catered for all walks of life.  On the sea days the entertainment was good, particularly the fruit carving and the jewellery talks by the manager of the jewellery shop. One criticism was the price of the drinks on board - ...

We just returned from a week long cruise in the Baltic. We had a great time and enjoyed the cruise and ports. We arrived in Kiel by train and were surprised to see a MSC desk at the train station to check our bags and there was a shuttle to the port. There was a charge for this (2.5 Euro / bag) but it was well worth it. The shuttle was complementary (so we could have dragged our bags with us) ...
