Great Cruise, So So Food!

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

We are in our early 50's and have sailed on Carnival several times. I enjoy the entertainment, trivia, and comedy shows. But I have noticed over the years that the food quality and variety has declined. The buffet on the Lido looked the same almost everyday . . . always baked fish, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, the exact same salads and fixing everyday even for dinner. etc. But the ...

We chose this cruise due to the price and itinerary. We did the 4 day last year on the Splendor and wanted to see more. We had FTTF so we were able to get on board before noon. We had access to our room and headed to the buffet. The food on this ship was great with good choices. My parents also joined us on this cruise and were equally pleased. The entertainment was good, we really enjoyed ...

BORING CRUISE EVER

We chose this cruise in a line dance group same as we did 7 years ago on Carnival Triumph. However, this Carnival Sunshine Fun ship is a boring one. NO disco, NO private dancing time at sea days..Carnival dancing lessons was short and limited. 15 minutes one dance per section only twice in 7 days. It is too small; only 3 Jacuzzi, 2 swimming pools; mini golf only one hole; limited crew to ...

Senior Cruise; Average Quality

We chose this cruise to fit into our schedule in NYC and with the hope to see Fall colors. We did not get to see the Fall colors due the long summer. This is our first Carnival cruise. We did not have high expectation. It exceeded our expectation but still falls below other cruise lines in quality in entertainment and food service. Carnival seems to know where to cut corners to save money. ...

We spent 3 days in Manhattan before the cruise and on cruise day took an Uber to the Manhattan Cruise terminal about 10:30 AM. Traffic is pretty heavy, but it's New York, so just plan accordingly. We had stayed near Times Square so it's only about a ten minute drive to the pier. Dropped our bags with a porter and proceeded to get in line for a huge elevator that takes you to the 2nd floor. ...

We do a Family and Friends Cruise 19 people in our group every 2-3 years, and we just returned from a New England & Canada Fall Cruise on carnival Sunshine Sept 10-17/16. Sat-We flew into LaGuardia and took a Carnival Transfer bus to Port of Manhattan. Having FTTF we were able to go thru the Embarkation fairly quickly and on board by a little after 11am. Went to our room to drop off luggage, ...

We chose this particular cruise for the itinerary. We had not previously cruised New England and parts north. After reading mixed reviews for the Carnival Sunshine, we decided to go for it...and we are happy that we did. The embarkation process in NYC was a breeze. We were on the ship, unpacked (had Faster to the Fun so cabin was ready), and having lunch by noon. The Sunshine's decor is ...

Honeymoon cruise without the service.

We booked this cruise for our honeymoon, and we expected it to be fun, but the negative overshadowed the positives on this trip. We carried our own luggage on, and used the only available elevator to get to deck 12. We waited while other people crowded the elevator going to rooms 4-9 which, I understand, a lot of people are on the ship. Although maybe this elevator should only be available for ...

40 years and still sailing

We were celebrating our 40th anniversary. I am in a wheelchair and was worried about being able to get around, no problems there. People were so nice and considerate. We didn't move around so much, as to stay out of people's way. When we booked the cruise, I read online that we could bring 2(750ml.) of wine onboard in our carry on luggage. We ended up having to check that bag, because it was too ...

We chose this cruise because we wanted to experience New York City and leave on a cruise from the Manhattan cruise port. We also selected the Carnival line because we had not sailed with them for many year and wanted a new experience. Every part of our cruise went smoothly from embarkation to disembarking. The only criticism of cruise was the port of Manhattan which was very congested and ...
