We are in our early 50's and have sailed on Carnival several times. I enjoy the entertainment, trivia, and comedy shows. But I have noticed over the years that the food quality and variety has declined. The buffet on the Lido looked the same almost everyday . . . always baked fish, baked chicken, mashed potatoes, the exact same salads and fixing everyday even for dinner. etc.

We chose this cruise due to the price and itinerary. We did the 4 day last year on the Splendor and wanted to see more. We had FTTF so we were able to get on board before noon. We had access to our room and headed to the buffet. The food on this ship was great with good choices. My parents also joined us on this cruise and were equally pleased.

We chose this cruise in a line dance group same as we did 7 years ago on Carnival Triumph. However, this Carnival Sunshine Fun ship is a boring one. We spent 3 days in Manhattan before the cruise and on cruise day took an Uber to the Manhattan Cruise terminal about 10:30 AM. Traffic is pretty heavy, but it's New York, so just plan accordingly.
