Holiday Spirit on the Spirit
"I do want to note that sometimes the options offered at the buffet at night were the same options offered at the dining room, so if you don't feel like sitting through table service, the buffet may have a similar selection. The dining room food was good, and came out pretty fast (more on service later)...."Read More

I’ve been on over 13 cruises Carnival is the most that I’ve been on. I’ve been on Norwegian royal Caribbean carnival, but I’m looking to go on another cruise for next year again. So I’m looking for a new adventure. I enjoyed the cruise this time after Covid. I’ve noticed a lot of things have changed for the better. The signing up for the breakfast through the phone waiting on your table for the ...

Our cruise included 6 adults, 4 of witch are seniors, and 3 children, ages 6,12,15. We had an early check-in and were on the ship around 10:30. The room would be available around 2:00. The pools were available, the water slides opened at 12:00, and food was available at several places. We picked this cruise ship for a couple reasons, first activities for the kids, 2 water slides, one for young ...

I felt the need to write a review of the Carnival Spirit because of so many negative ones I've read. Let me start out by saying I AM a seasoned cruiser. Been on over 20 cruisers. The Spirit is a older ship but easy to navigate and at full capacity doesn't feel crowded at all. This ship is NOT for kids!!!! People need to do their homework before booking or book with a experienced travel agt. There ...

This was our first post-covid cruise. We weren't expecting much because the reviews that we had read were pretty bad. Our experience, however, proved to be very pleasant, To begin with, embarkation was a breeze. The system of timing your arrival seems to be working very well. We boarded without lines and were pleased to find that the muster station procedure no longer interferes with ...

Much better than I expected based on the reviews

The Spirit is an older ship and a smaller ship than the new ships being produced these days. I enjoyed the ship and never felt like I was living in the past. The decor in places is odd, to say the least, but something I got over in about 10 minutes. The only places it really was obvious was the main theatre done in an Egyptian motif and an inside walkway/lounge around the front of the ship that ...

If I had one phrase to describe my trip on the Carnival Spirit, I would say "so-so." Overall, I would say that if you are traveling with kids, this is certainly not the ship I would spend my money on. Also, if you want solid entertainment and engaging and fun activities throughout the day, this is also not the ship for you. I will break this review up into parts so it's easier to read for those of ...

Sewerage smells - no staff - terrible entertainment and a ship that needs to go into drydock now!

We originally booked this cruise for a group of 10 pre covid that was rescheduled 4 times. We were traveling from literally all over the world and were supposed to be on Carnival Freedom but Carnival changed our ship about 3 moths prior to the cruise. We had last sailed on spirit in Australia in December 2019 and enjoyed the ship/entertainment and crew, but unfortunately it appears that ...

Dining: we were served a lobster dinner( on captains night) that had been served to another guest and had been eaten of off already. Our servers were very forgetful. When approached with problems of service the maitre D ( Manuel) seemed to want to solve the problem by firing or removing the people involved. The assistant Maitre D,Kerry( from Australia) was more helpful then her counter part.Over all ...

We went on the Carnival Spirit Southern Itinerary on February 19 through February 27, 2004. We absolutely loved this cruise and this ship. We are a family of 9 (mom, dad, aunt and 6 teenagers) The Spirit is a lovely ship. I love the dEcor. In my opinion she is more tasteful and less gaudy than other Carnival ships I have been on. But let me back up and start at the beginning... This was a last ...

I am not going to write about all the wonderful things that you have probably read in other reviews, except to say that they are so true! This was the nicest ship we had ever been on and had a wonderful time. We had booked an oceanview guarantee and ended up with an oceanview with balcony. We booked 2 weeks before departure and paid $533/pp including taxes and port charges on an internet site. ...
