After reading the reviews about this ship I was extremely nervous about this cruise; however, I didn’t experience any of the major negatives in past reviews. Listed below are my pros and cons. Pros: The cruise director Cam was amazing. He was really high energy and was able to included everyone in most of the onboard games and shows. The embarkment process was painless from the moment ...

Family Christmas Cruise

This was a trip 8 months in the making. 16 members of our family boarded the Ecstasy on December 21,2019. We were beyond excited to be spending Christmas/Hannukah at sea. We were all on the Empress deck which is on the main atrium deck. The Atrium and all the balconies above were decorated with a giant Christmas tree, garland, lights and they even had a gigantic Menorah. The 5 children ages 11 ...

Smelly, messy, waiting, annoying

We have used Carnival for many years and have enjoyed it and considered it a good value for a vacation. Traffic, waiting in line to get on and off the ship is expected and a concession you’re willing to make when the rest is relaxing and paid for except for the drinks. There was 11 of us and we will probably be willing to pay more for more enjoyment and less annoyance in the future. A lot of ...

Sewer smell and vomit

We booked a family vacation for 8 and drove down from NY to Jax. Immediately the smell onboard was off putting but we decide to ignore as best we could and have a good time. Staff appear to be working hard and the entertainment was good . The food was sub par tasteless and lukewarm. Pizza was good so we ate that a lot . Buffet is in supervised by staff and kids were touching everything. No one was ...

This was a last minute cruise for us - we booked it one week before we left. We booked it because Jacksonville was close by and my husband had to take a week of vacation or he was going to lose it. That said, we've cruised on 5 Carnival ships and this was the smallest class ship we've been on. I definitely prefer the larger cruise ships - being smaller, we felt a lot more movement and lots of ...

Don't waste your time or money

Ship smelled like raw sewage the entire cruise . My stateroom was on deck 7 and I about puked every time I walked to and from my room . The light switch to my room was hanging off the wall wrapped in black tape . The balcony as filthy , drain was clogged with the nastiest crud I've seen in along time. This ship just got out of dry dock the week before so you would think it would have been in ...

Never Again

Terrible. Crusty ship. Brown water from bathroom sink. Captain was terrible and kept Sailing up into the bottom of the hurricane causing us to have an unnecessary rough ride. He would find the roughest seas at night so that no one could sleep from the rocking. We were lied to from the get go. They should have canceled the cruise because of the hurricane but they are too money hungry. They kept ...

Too close to Atrium

The cruise was relaxing. We went to Princess Cays, where we got a Sanctuary Bungalow that we enjoyed very much. We weren't fans of the Nassau market off the port since we don't like having all the vendors constantly trying to convince you to go into their shop (or get your hair braided). The food in the MDR was great. We had your-time-dining and only had to wait once. We enjoyed the music shows ...

Boring

We are a family of four and this was our first cruise. We did not have high expectations as we knew coming on that this was an old shop....we chose it because of it being within driving distance from our home. The ship itself isn’t terrible (aside from the tiniest pool I’ve ever seen). Most of the crew really do try hard to make it a pleasant experience. The food is absolutely horrendous. ...

The good, the bad and the ugly

This cruise was a gift to my Mom. It was her first cruise and my second. The ship is dated. Everything needs a facelift. Boarding the ship This was very smooth if you know what you need to do. Boarding passes need to be ready as soon as you get off the shuttle. The first day all we did was walk and explore the ship. The first day we took the stairs all day which was exhausting ...
