Did Norwegian know where we going?

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

I was disappointed with this cruise. I think NCL had a chance to make it something special but chose not to. We had only sailed on Norwegian once before and had not particularly enjoyed it but the itinerary that NCL originally offered with stops in West Africa, Cape Verde and Morocco was so unusual and interesting that we decided to give Norwegian another go. The first disappointment was that ...

Trouble on NCL Dawn in Africa

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

There is something definitely wrong on this ship. I got a stomach virus after 3 days of sailing and was put in isolation. After taking my medicine, I barely are for the subsequent 3 days. And, I got the bug, again. I traced my problem to a common denominator: Caesar Salad. The Captain ordered that crews must serve passengers in the buffet area. We aren't even allowed to get water by ourselves. ...

Fascinating itinerary, but flawed execution

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

There are going to be a lot of very negative reviews for this cruise, and there were many problems with it. There were four missed ports, an itinerary change after final deposits were made, and a lot of difficulties with ports that were visited. Additionally, the passengers on this cruise were exceptionally savvy travelers, and exceptionally sophisticated and experienced frequent cruisers with ...

Horror cruise

Review for a Africa Cruise on Norwegian Dawn

Horror Cruise! Norwengian is no longer Norwengian! Since COVID, NCL cruises have deteriorated in an inexplicable way. We are on board the Dawn crossing from Africa to Europe. An outbreak of gastroenteritis on board. Hundreds with diarrhea, including crew. The same ship, on the last cruise before this one, had already been quarantined on the Mauritius Coast with cholera suspected. It seems they ...

Princess Cruises and Island Princess Lost Luster

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

User Avatar

Our Island Princess Cruise was scheduled with an itinerary from Dubai to the Red Sea / Suez Canal to the Greek Islands to Italy. Due to world events, Princess deleted the itinerary and substituted a new segment from Cape Town to Rome through the eastern Mediterranean. This was our 45th wedding anniversary trip and we had targeted the Greek Isles as a bucket list item to check-off. Princess ...

A great world cruise

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

Let’s start with a disclaimer. We are strong Seabourn advocates. We have sailed on Seabourn for years and have spent more than 500 nights aboard Seabourn Ships. That being said, this review will be honest and we will share with you the good and fair on our trip. You will notice we did not use the word “bad”. The reason for us not using this word, is that we have had no bad experiences on this ...

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

I spent six weeks travelling through South Africa and decided to return to Europe by cruise. In spring 2023 there were exactly five ships doing this. Costa, Aida, Phoenix and two MSC vessels. Costa visited on the world cruise and no cabin was available. Aida did a fast track through the Atlantic Ocean and mainly visited ports in Europe, in my opinion no attractive itinerary. Phoenix did extensive ...

Too many problems and poor commincation

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

We travelled on a 30 day “Grand Voyage” from Cape Town to Venice on the MSC Sinfonia in March/April 2023. This is a 3.5 star vessel, and the onboard experience met or slightly exceeded expectations at that price point. The ship is well maintained, and the food entertainment and service are normally good. Note, this ship was cut in two and more cabins inserted. This put a strain on the facilities ...

SUCH A DELIGHT

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

We just booked this at the very last moment as it was sailing from Cape Town to Southampton and were delighted there was space. This was our first Cunard experience, but I think virtually all other passengers were long-time fans of Cunard. I really cannot find anything to complain about. Check-in was professional and we received our suitcases relatively quickly. The cabin was a decent size, ...

Disaster. Trading on a bygone era and name that no longer exist.

This cruise was a treat for a special occasion. All of Cunard's advertising exudes 'Luxury and Glamour'. We did not know that we had paid all that money to join the last leg of around the world cruise for a 'don't care home'!! Our checkin and boarding was a disaster as we were checked into the room I had booked, but in some one else's name! We subsequently were hawked about a couple of floors ...
