Msc nightmare

Review for a Africa Cruise on MSC Splendida

Horrible experience so far. Over crowded everywhere queues for days to do just about anything, including accessing lifts. People are frustrated and impatient and thus pushes in lines and literally fight for space in the pools. Dirty. Cheap food. To top it off our ship is stuck in the Harbour. What a terribly disappointing experience. Stuck for another 3 days hoping to 'cruise to nowhere' instead ...

Booked through Iglu cruises who were good 3 days in Cape Town far outwayed our expectations- fantastic stay ….Then we got on the ship . Should have stayed in Cape Town. Boat is shabby . We had a restricted view cabin on deck 8 . When I say restricted- couldn’t see anything but life boat . Layout of cabin awful . You couldn’t get to one side of bed which had its head below windows . Very ...

Chose this cruise because of the itinerary ie. South Africa and Namibia. From day 1 the writing was on the wall. I will start with the good points and there aren’t many. Food-In general this was very good. Good quality and good selection. Food in Aqua and the Venetian was as good if not better than we have had on other cruises. Staff-In line with all other cruise lines stewards, waiters, bar ...

NCL let us down in Africa and Madagascar

We've used Norwegian for all our cruises and after this one we hit the Platinum level Latitudes. We've experienced some amazing things cruising with NCL, but this cruise has been awful. Only two redeeming things we've had in 12 days. The first was a dinner at their new Mexican restaurant Los Lobos Cantina. The food was excellent, the service was exceptional. We also always book the Mandara Spa ...

We booked the cruise 9 month in advace with great ports in mosambik and madagaskar. A few month later mosambik was canceld and the intresting ports in madagaskar where changed into boring ports. Then where a big pricedrop. Norwegian ignored our complaints. Altough the where about 50 cabins empty, no possibility to get an upgrade. The water and coffee on board tasted terrible and although ...

Most cruisers will have heard of the old French nautical Term "Force Majeure" used by Global shipping company's and insrurance institutions across the World, This description in most cases used to declare "an act of God" or "Inevitable accident" at sea. NCL have taken this title to a next level encompassing anything that goes wrong on board their vessels or extremley bad management or both. I am ...

Worst cruise ever

We chose this cruise for it’s itinerary, even though Mozambique was removed late last year, and an interesting Madagascar port was replaced by two stops in the north of the island which at best could be described as terrible! The South Africa stops were great, Nosy Be and Antsinerara below average due to the Shore Excursion team not explaining the shocking travel arrangements on both, we did not ...

I Chose this cruise for the itinerary: 12 Days: From Cape Town. Port Elizabeth, Durban and Luderitz Embarkation: Chaos. My time was 1pm. After 2 hours standing in a non-air conditioning warehouse, people in my line discovered the next line (2 pm) was boarding ahead of us. At this point it was a free for all as hundreds of people surged forward, disregarding the lines and pushed towards the ...

Review for a Trans-Ocean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

I spent six weeks travelling through South Africa and decided to return to Europe by cruise. In spring 2023 there were exactly five ships doing this. Costa, Aida, Phoenix and two MSC vessels. Costa visited on the world cruise and no cabin was available. Aida did a fast track through the Atlantic Ocean and mainly visited ports in Europe, in my opinion no attractive itinerary. Phoenix did extensive ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on MSC Sinfonia

We travelled on a 30 day “Grand Voyage” from Cape Town to Venice on the MSC Sinfonia in March/April 2023. This is a 3.5 star vessel, and the onboard experience met or slightly exceeded expectations at that price point. The ship is well maintained, and the food entertainment and service are normally good. Note, this ship was cut in two and more cabins inserted. This put a strain on the facilities ...
