We booked this cruise 18 months ago to be a short relaxing getaway after the holidays to warmer climate. Unfortunately, Omicron hit, too late to back out so we hoped for the best. COVID test at embarkment (Barbados) actually wasn't too bad, 30 - 40 min. so don't let COVID procedures stop you from cruising. If you get seasick easily then understand this is a small ship and it does roll a bit - ...
The Silver Whisper is advertised as an upscale ship. I guess it depends on what you are looking for on your cruise. Our voyage in the Caribbean was a great disappointment in many respects. The ship itself it's very nice but not great. . The best thing about the Whisper is the crew. They are outstanding in every way.
Drinks are free and that's great. On the other hand, the food was consistently ...
We chose this cruise as a means to pursue something different. Having boated on rivers for many years we thought cruising the Amazon would be a good extension of the activity. We looked forward to seeing the cities, wildlife and the notion of seeing piranha fish.
Embarkation was very smooth and they lived up to expectations. Our room was clean and well stocked with fruit and beverages. Out ...
We love Silver Sea and usually are not disappointed. The timing for us on this cruise was after major hurricanes hit the islands, so there were fewer excursions and less activities available. St. Bart's was particularly disappointing since very few shops were open on Sunday and many were still damaged and not able to be open anyway.
The butler feature that Silver Sea offers is usually ...
We were there for purely for pleasure; getting pampered with superior service. The staff is superb and eager to please; this certainly makes up for a few minor things that were less than perfect.
There appear to be small areas that suggest a management drive to reduce the cost of operating. Examples include (a) a very narrow selection of beer options (without paying extra) (b) nightly show ...
We wanted to try a more upscale cruise line. Everything was more than we had expected.
The food was excellent and all the staff everywhere on the ship were friendly, learned ur names and were eager to help. Our Butler was at our service and our room was always very clean and in order. We met some nice people from around the world and made some new friends. I must also mention there were no ...
We recently returned from our first cruise on a Silverseas ship. We booked a Veranda room and were very satisfied. The veranda itself isn't large, but it was sufficient. Our room was nice, especially for a cruise ship. The bathroom was also a good size. Our butler was great. Matter of fact, the whole staff was great - not one person disappointed us. We were very impressed with the food and ...
The only thing luxurious about this cruise was the price.
We have cruised many lines but the best was the standard provided on Seabourn and that is our benchmark because Seabourn is truly a luxury line.
The food and service on Silversea were a huge disappointment!
Food totally lacked creativity. Comparable to what you would get at a low end family style restaurant; certain packaged ...
Day 1
By way of an introduction, we are a middle aged couple (I call 64 middle aged) originally from the UK however, we relocated to a lovely Mediterranean island called Cyprus ten years ago. This is our 6th Silversea cruise we have not cruised with any other cruise line, this is our second time on the Whisper.
Monday 24th November: After a long trip from Europe (Cyprus) we finally arrived in ...
It would much quicker to mention the few things that weren't perfect, but this cruise deserves a full report. From start to finish we were impressed with efficiency of the staff. Their level if service is so high, and yet is accompanied by what feels like genuine warmth.
Getting on board was as smooth as it could be. I don't think I will ever forget jigging down the corridor to have a sneaky peek ...
