First Marella cruise, but not the last.

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Marella Discovery

We have been fortunate enough to have been on a range of holidays with various tour operators and different cruise lines. Our most recent being Cunard Line. A far cry from Marella, on pen and paper anyway. We wanted to try something new and after watching lots of reviews and videos online, we decided to give them a try and when a good deal popped up, we booked. We chose an itinerary that we ...

Worst Ever Cruise Experience

We choose this cruise for the destinations, we did two weeks back to back Tropical Shores & Cocktail & Coconuts. The destinations didn’t disappoint and Dominica was the highlight. However the onboard experience was the worst we have ever had. If you don’t mind bad food and like to drink a lot you will probably love it. It felt like Wetherspoons at Sea but that would be doing Wetherspoons ...

This was my first and last cruise. I am at loss for words… As a first time cruiser I had a lot of things to learn. Just suck that it came at such an expensive price! The only reason they got a 2 is because the service was good and our room was made everyday just like we like it. The food was HORRIBLE - I work in the school system and our lunch lady made gastronomic food compare to this! ...

Itinerary was fine except for the fiasco of US border checks ,officers came onto the ship to check every esta and fingerprint every holidaymaker. This took all day 100 People called every half hour or so to line up and be seen .Some people waited around until 6in the evening and the ship left port at 8 so they had a couple of hours ashore in a port that was closed and dark. There were fights in ...

We travelled with Marella same embarkcation in 2022. Rebooted on the positive journey last year. The ships hygiene is poor. They don't wipe down tables after use in the Island restaurant (indoor or out) when we spoke to someone they tried to justify the lack of care due to a Customs Inspection on the day. However, whilst they removed dishes quickly, they didn't wipe at all, the entire 7 days ...

We liked the ship and found the staff very friendly and helpful. They did their best to serve you in the bars and restaurants, and also to try and keep the ship clean. The singers and musicians in the bars and around the pool where very good. The dancers and singers work very hard and we saw all the shows and enjoyed them. The food selection in the buffet and main restaurants was good, and ...

The balcony cabin and bathroom was lovely, and maintained to a lovely standard. The staff are fantastic, with special acknowledgement to Leandro (Atrium Bar), Ni (Sushi restaurant) and Rodrigo (Bar 11), who were exceptional. The drinks package was well worth the additional £90, with quality premium drinks available. The main downfall was the food, it was difficult to book into the ...

Booked a smaller ship thinking that overcrowding wouldn’t be as big of a problem as in past cruises. Boy, was I wrong, and add to that a dated jalopy of a ship to spend a week on. Don’t waste your money on this pile of garbage unless you like the hum and flicker of CFL light bulbs that *might* work if you’re lucky. One of them in our stateroom was like a strobe light and two other lights just ...

We have always booked with TUI, and as my uncles 50th birthday was approaching last year we decided to book a cruise around the Caribbean! My aunt and uncle unfortunately had to cancel due to health reasons but myself, mum and dad still went. Our flight out was on the 28th December 2023 and we flew home from Barbados (one of the negative factors, nothing on TUI or Marella though) on the 11th ...

Memorable cruise but unfortunately memorable for all the wrong reasons, if you’re looking for a cruise with good food, luxury accommodation, excellent service, then do not book this. Butlins has more quality than this cruise. Food was typical British like Bacon, eggs and baked beans for breakfast. Buffet at dinner had a lot of choice but wasn’t the best quality, cold food and over cooked. If ...
