Excellent Transatlantic Cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Azamara Quest

Excellent cruise from Rio to Lisbon. Very friendly staff. Atmosphere is upscale-casual: Few men wore sport jackets at any time. Ship was about 3/4 full, with almost all passengers being in their fifties and up. There were no children. Large mix of nationalities (US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.). It got a bit rocky towards the end of the cruise and the captain chose to skip the Madeira port of ...

Another superb cruise on the Azamara Quest, we were in a club continent suite this time as the bathroom in a veranda room is very small , our suite was very nice lots of storage and we were able to put the suitcases under the bed. The company has changed hands since our last voyage and it is noticeable in the cuts they are making considering the guests on board we’re 54% return cruisers they ...

We chose this cruise for the size of the ship.We hav sailed in excess of 25 cruises with a wide range of ship sizes and companies. The ship was exceptionally friendly and in very clean We sailed from Las Palmas round the Canary Islands and with it being such a small ship were able to visit La Palma and LaGomera. The ship only carried under 670 passengers so you soon got to know people. Food ...

Expensive cruise and certainly not worth the money

We chose this cruise as we had originally booked a south Africa cruise which was cancelled due to COVID. We moved it to the following year and when it was getting near to time to pay covid was raging through South Africa. Azmara said they were still going ahead with the cruise but being OAP we did not want to put ourselves at risk by going. We told either lose £600 deposit or book another ...

Our friends chose this cruise to ensure we got some 'winter' sunshine and it was part of a slightly longer hotel and cruise stay. The cruise could have easily been so much better with a little bit of organisation. The embarkation was disorganised and some people were left in a holding area for no apparent reason. We arrived with our friends (2 groups of 2) and we were guided to 2 different check ...

My husband and I chose this Azamara Journey West Africa cruise starting on 4th March 2023 from Cape Town to Walvis Bay Namibia, Luanda Angola, Takoradi Ghana, Ivory Coast, The Gambia, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Madeira and Lisbon on account of the stops in the African ports. We have sailed a lot with other cruise companies like Holland America, Princess, Celebrity and Norwegian but this was our ...

Pre-Cruise - 3 destinations changed with no reduction in price. Complained to Azamara before we set off and were only given $300 onboard credit as compensation. Check-In - Some sort of IT failure meant we couldn’t check in for 3 hrs. When IT system came back, even though we’d checked in online pre-cruise, the process of checking paperwork and taking photos etc. took a long time. No drinks, even ...

Overall 5/5. We did not expect the Canary Islands itinerary to be the most interesting, as we have stayed on most of the islands before, but it was just great to be travelling again and we enjoyed it more than we expected to. Our first cruise with Azamara and one of our favourite ships to date. It was our 26th cruise. We considered staying onboard for the next leg of the cruise, but it was doing ...

We choose this cruise because our country (the Netherlands) were in lockdown and the Canary Island not. And because we had heard that Azamara has a high standard of cruising. And indeed they have. We were pampered all the way with an excellent service, very good food, a cozy atmosphere and easy contacts with fellow passengers. We were lucky to have only 231 passengers on board (instead of the ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Azamara Pursuit

My wife and I have been cruising for several year - often 3 cruises per year - but had not yet tried an upscale cruise like Azamara. The first thing that we noticed, not surprisingly, was that the Pursuit was not quite as large as the other cruise ships we had taken previously. Next we noticed that the crew seemed to be more friendly than on other, larger ships. We subsequently determined ...
