Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

This cruise could have been a disappointment. For that matter, this Greece-Turkey cruise could have been a dud. Instead the trip turned out to be our second thoroughly satisfying vacation on an Azamara ship this year. When we first booked the Black Sea cruise last year, we were really looking forward to finally going to Istanbul and seeing a different part of the world. Then the geopolitical ...

Excellent experience with Azamara

We were a little hesitant about getting aboard a cruise ship again. The crew and staff of Azamara were excellent, we very quickly realised that we were safer on this ship than being at home. The testing at embarkation was swift and very well organised and we were soon given the clearance to board the ship. A small group of us were shown the emergency drill, then onward to our cabin. The ...

Having previously traveled on Celebrity and Royal I wasn't sure what to expect. I really like the small ship feel and the personal interaction with the staff and crew. Entertainment was adequate since this was a port intensive itinerary it was often hard to stay awake. Cruise Director Eric was the best part and worth staying up for. The suite included dining in specialty restaurants and I dined ...

A blast on Azamara Journey

It was our first time on Azamara and we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary in style. We had a wonderful time cruising Creek Islands and were very lucky with worm and sunny weather. Our room was always comfortable and clean. Restaurant on a fifth deck had superb service and every waiter try and delivered every wish we have had. Menu change every night and food was excellent. Deck nine ...

My wife and I were looking for something special to do for our 40th Anniversary. We cruise annually to the Caribbean but wanted something more special - so we looked at a European Cruise. We originally were looking on either celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean or Holland America but because we had a very limited window when we could travel, we expanded the search and found this cruise. We ...

Priority embarkation, a perk of being in a suite, was a breeze and we were onboard in no time at all. We were each offered a glass of fizz or orange juice. We had a light lunch in Windows then found our Club Continent Suite, 8050, which happened to be next door to a fellow CC poster's friends, so we met almost immediately, on the balcony As we’d cruised on Journey before, we didn’t need much ...

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. We particularly wanted to revist Ephesus, Chania and Rhodes. We prebooked a small group 4wd safari with Chania Adventures and then found we were the only passengers. Nassos was a entertaining and instructive driver/guide and made our day extremely enjoyable even if we failed his quizz on the life and habits of bees. In Ephesus we had a private tour by ...

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Azamara Journey

We chose this cruise because of longer stays in ports and the fact that smaller ship allows you to connect with people. While we did connect with people (we met some really nice ones!), the ship skewed about 10 years older than we are (we're in our mid 50's with a child still at home). We'd probably wait 10 more years before going on another Azamara cruise for just this reason. The staff for ...

Solo revisiting the Celebrity Azamara.

I chose the cruise because it had an amazing solo supplement price on a cruise with ports I had been longing to see again. Good decision!! I had sailed on this ship several years ago. When I stepped on board I just stopped and said "wow!" Beautiful ship. Great service. Fun activities like dinner parties on deck with incredible singers. Many options for dinner. Great room service for ...

The Journey is our favorite ship and this was our fifth cruise on her. The price was very good, under $5000 for a balcony cabin for two. The reason we love Azamara is that they go out of their way to make passengers feel at home. It's hard to explain, but almost as if you have a friend with a yacht who has invited you to stay for while. Your fellow passengers are usually well-traveled adults ...
