Sail Date: May 2017
Cabin: Ocean View

We sailed on the Glory in 2016 and picked it again in 2017, same week. What happened to the Glory in a year? The food was horrible. We resorted to pb&j at midnight in the cabin. The dining room food was not as good as last year at all and after 2 days we gave up on the dining room. I found the waiters to be a little pushy to get you to add on things that cost instead of just serving what was ordered.

We were on deck 2. Someone must have gotten sick in the hall, the smell was horrendous to the point of you had to cover your face to walk from the elevator area to your cabin. It was everyday. One day they tried to cover it up and it was better for a day then returned. They tried fans in the hall, nothing helped. It was so bad for me to pass the area and it lasted half the hallway to our cabin. Every day. I can't imagine having a cabin right where the smell was.

On the positive side, the staff. The staff is awesome. From the cabin staff to the buffet area staff, they really are great and deserve the credit. I mentioned a cream cake that I liked to a food service worker and it wasn't out on buffet that night. Fifteen minutes later he showed up at my table with it. I was so thrilled, he did that for me.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6A

When we arrived at 1:30pm the cabins on the floor were not ready. The floor was littered, so we left without leaving any bags and waited another hour. The bed was comfortable. The shower was not draining but they came and fixed it. Small tv with limited channels. Lens in light was hanging but we fixed it. The worst was the smell. Someone got sick on the floor in the hall. The smell lingered the whole crusie. They tried to mask it, run fans, but unless you ripped up carpet it is not going to get better. Unfortunately it was right outside the elevators so we had no choice to walk past the area. Everyday we had to cover our nose and mouth as we went down the hall. It was so bad. The cabin attendant was good and friendly. The room was cleaned once a day not twice as in prior years. We enjoyed the towel animals!!

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

Went to the beach. Good snorkeling right from the beach. Crappy beach chairs that we had to pay $10 a chair. This was not a Carnival port.

Roatan

This is a Carnival port. Beach was beautiful. Best beach. Beach chairs newer. Had a good bar area too.

Belize City

We hired a taxi. If you go out the port area there are private taxis. They will give you a price for where you want to go. We said no, to high, they came down. We were in a taxi van with one other couple and went to Al tun Ha. The taxi driver gave us a history lesson and pointed out things the whole ride. Then he stayed with us and gave us a tour of Al tun Ha. He was very knowledgeable and it was good to have him, because Al Tun Ha does not have any sign information of the history. It was very humid that day. Al tun Ha was not crowded as I read it might be. Very little crowd. Our taxi drivers name was Gregory if you go, go outside of the port area and ask for him. He wears a green company shirt. Enjoyed Belize.

Cozumel

Overcast day. There is no beach at this port. It is really just for shopping or you have to have a tour booked.
