We picked the cruise for it's ports...and they did not disappoint. We had 2 tender ports. I honestly do not understand why large ships go to tender ports..and when they do, they should be far more prepared to get folks off the ship quickly. On our second tender port, it took us 1.75 hours to get to shore with the wait. Unacceptable in my opinion. I should not have to book a ship tour to get off the ship in a reasonable amount of time.
The entertainment was just OK. I do not need craziness, pool games, etc, but the musical entertainment was way too mellow. I do not know if this itinerary was the reason for the music. We are 50 years old, many on the cruise were older...but that doesn't mean that people don't want to hear upbeat music. They had alot of classical, never any music at the pool (even on nice days), and nights were mainly boring. The house band was talented, but they didn't seem to play too much. The piazza could have had occasional upbeat music a few nights, but never did. On the last day, there was a woman singling opera there...I have no idea where she came from. Those younger than us were really dissatisfied with the music selection. They need to improve this and have more variety for different likes.
Overall, the cruise was great. I'm only mentioning the things that could use improvement. Would I recommend it? Absolutely...just wish these few things were addressed for the future....
We had a balcony cabin on the 12th floor. Room wasn't huge, but we weren't it in much except to sleep and shower. The only thing that surprised me with the room was the shower....it was tiny, no tub. On most of our other cruises with different lines, a balcony cabin would have at least a bigger shower. Difficult to shave the legs. Otherwise, no issues, balcony was decent sized.
