We always wanted to go to Antarctica but searched for a little more comfort than the typical icebreaker offered. Le Lyrial with its reinforced hull and 122 staterooms gave us that small ship feel to get us into all the little bays and ports whilst travelling in style.

Our window cabin (307) was the cheapest but, being designated "disabled", much larger than the standard balcony stateroom. Heaps of space.

Dining location alternated depending on our mood between the a-la-cart Gastronomic on deck 2 and more casual Grill restaurant on deck 6. The food was wonderful. Interestingly it became necessary to reserve a table at the Grill for an evening meal, it was so popular.

Cabin Review

Cabin Superior stateroom

Being an expedition cruise the disabled cabins were available to anyone and our travel agent recommended we book cabin 307 which was a great move. Whilst we didn't have a balcony (too cold anyway to be of much use in Antarctica) we had a large window and the cabin was a good metre wider than the balcony cabins. Big bathroom and plenty of room for 2.
