We have always wanted to take a Rhine River cruise and finally were able to do it! We loved seeing all the castles and wished we had more time to explore them. We loved sitting in the lounge in the evening, listening to Buddy from our perches at the bar. Dinner was always a grand event and we were pampered each time. Everyone on the cruise was friendly and the staff were amazing! If I had two wishes, one would be to have some type of fitness facility on the boat. I know it is smaller, but the weather wasn't amenable to going to the top deck so having something indoors would have been nice. The other would be to have room service. We liked sitting on the veranda and it would have been great to have breakfast there in the morning.

We've seen the Viking ads for years and always thought the river cruises looked divine. We really enjoyed the slower pace and smaller ship, and less crowds! We've taken 3 ocean cruises and each time the ships got bigger and bigger, and all the activities became overwhelming. We definitely will go on another river cruise and are now looking at the Viking ocean cruises, as they also look to be much more relaxed that the other cruise lines.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

The cabin was very nice. We really liked the design of the bathroom! We had plenty of room for our belongings and enjoyed our time there.

Port Reviews

Basel

We only traveled from the airport to the dock so didn't explore Basel.

Strasbourg

We went on the walking tour. Very interesting.
